Adopt a German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Teagan, a 45-pound, strikingly handsome one-year-old shepherd/mountain-dog mix, needs to be in a foster home or forever home. As a stray puppy who ended up in a rural shelter, he had no one to love him, socialize him, or teach him basic manners. PAW asked for help from an excellent trainer, and he’s making great progress with her. He will flourish in a home where his primary person is physically strong, dog-experienced, and confident in working with an energetic, strong-willed youngster. PAW will provide a review of his training for the foster. He would make a great running partner! Teagan has beautiful brindle fur and chocolate-drop eyes that plead with you to take him home. He is exceedingly smart and loyal. After training or play, he loves to cuddle and be physically close, but he’s picky with his dog friends and would do best as an only pet—and probably where there are no small children (because he could knock them over). He needs a tall privacy fence, or someone dedicated to leash-walking him. We have seen that Teagan is a great hiking and exploring companion!
